The Bait Shop and Snocone Adventure

After my cake order was picked up this morning and my husband returned home from his archery tournament, we planned an adventure for June (our 2.5 year old). I live in Louisiana and I might be considered a little "redneck" for this, but we took her to the bait shop down the road! She loves looking at all the "glitter worms" they have and the box of live crickets. I would have taken pictures of her enjoying herself, but I'm pretty sure the clerk would have thought we were crazy. So, I refrained. But here she is in the car, ready to go!

After the bait shop, we took the girls to the Snocone stand for some *clear* grape Snocones. June and Daddy really love Snocones!

And then we returned home, a little thinner, since the heat index around here has been 118 degrees and the humidity is about 70% at all times. We cooled down a bit and then all sat down to one of my freezer meals. Steak Salad...just take a raw steak, cut it into strips, put them in a Ziploc bag, pour in your favorite beef marinade (mine is Liquid smoke, brown sugar, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce) and freeze. Then on serving day, thaw the strips, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes and put over a salad with your favorite dressing (I used Creamy Balsamic dressing). Yummy.

Tomorrow is church! Is it bad that I really look forward to be "alone" time with my husband in our pew at church while Maw-maw watches the girls? It's like a mini-vacation! 2 hours without diaper changes and cartoons. Wonderful...
