Chicken Club Casserole Tutorial (FREEZER MEAL)

This is a delicious, creamy, and comforting casserole. My whole family loves it! This recipe makes a 9x13 baking dish full- serving 10...or two 8X8 baking dishes!

This makes a great freezer meal. Just line your pan with tinfoil and then saran wrap. Assemble the casserole like normal but instead of baking it, freeze it! To reheat, put the unwrapped frozen casserole back into the pan you froze it in, and let thaw in the fridge overnight. Once thawed, bake as normal.

Chicken Club Casserole

Ingredients

1 lb spiral pasta, cooked
4 cups cubed cooked chicken
2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
1 cup milk
1 cup mayonnaise
4 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
3 cups fresh baby spinach, chopped
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Step 1


Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients EXCEPT the shredded cheese.

Step 2


Pour contents of bowl into the baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Step 3


Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted.

OK, all of these dishes look amazing, but once in the freezer, how long do they last? What is the shelf life (in general) of a frozen dish like this? Keep in mind, I know nothing about cooking but being a single, recently divorced man, I'm learning to fend for myself on something more than just takeout and fast food

OMG - this is a heart killer. Fat, cholesterol, and sodium so high it would kill a young person. Dishes like this are why we have fat unhealthy citizens in this country, and we're giving our children heart disease.
Sodium in soup - 750mg
Sodium in Monterey Jack cheese - 1520
Total Sodium - 2270 milligrams!
Add all that bacon to that and you're going to be in a cardiac ICE before the year is out. Your family is begging for high blood pressure and heart disease by eating like this. The fat and calories are just as bad as the sodium. OMG - learn something about proper nutrition.

Thank you so much for your kind words and being so conscientious of my family. I really appreciate the effort it took for you to break down this dish's nutritional value. I'm not a nutritional specialist but I have done a bit of research and as I understand it, a recommended daily intake of sodium for an adult is 1500mgs. Since this dish is 2270 total and serves 10 people, that would make each persons consumption of sodium to be 227- which is very acceptable from the info I have gathered on nutritional websites. Considering we are an incredibly healthy and active family, I don't see us having any issues of that nature. But, again, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to enlighten me. sodium is what built this country, anyone not able to handle their salt is a terrorist. As a true patriot I have to add a cup of salt to this dish but otherwise love it like I love my country.

Eat as you may but this shouldn't be listed under healthy eating as it is in pintrest... No fault of yours i know. I just hope those trying to eat healthy and lose weight know what they are doing. Just sayin.

I just want to make sure I have this right before I do it. Do you cook it and then freeze it or just put it all together, freeze, then cook when you are ready to eat it?

I love the idea of this dish and can not wait to try it. I do not plan on adding the tomato's to freeze fresh in the dish. Going to have some to put on top after baking. If there are people concerned about salt. Make you own cheese sauce to use with it, or use low sodium ingredients. Thank you for the recipe.

This was a great meal! It easily fed four adults and two children, plus we had leftovers. Great blend of flavors (and not too salty at all). Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Hi! Just found this on pinterest and I think we will add it to our rotation. Does one casserole need 2 or 1 cup of cheese? I may be reading incorrectly but you have 2 cups (8 oz) but 16 oz is 2 cups. Just want to make sure that I make it correctly! Thank you
