I've never been yet, but I hope to one day soon. As for what I would want most...the cookbook, because it would give me a start to learning how to cook Louisiana style. I'm a Canadian girl living in Missouri and am fascinated by American cooking - and even cooked my first batch of collard greens last night!

I haven't had the opportunity to visit Louisiana, but our family is a huge fan of Zatarains products. When we lived in California, we had a staple of red beans and rice in our house! Adding a little ground meat, put it in a tortilla..and you have some gooooood eatin! I'd be most excited to have the File. Have always wanted to make traditional gumbo, and I know this is a key ingredient!
Megan from WV said…
oh my goodness! all that food looks AWESOME. I have never been to Louisiana, but I have a good friend who used to live in Mississippi who raved about gumbo and stuff. I've always wanted to try it! I guess some of the things i'm looking forward to the most would have to be...the 'slap your mama' Cajun spice - my brother went to India for a semester and can never get enough spice - the community coffee cappuccino mix (gotta have my coffee!), and the cookbook. I always love good recipes and could always use another great cookbook

I was 18 and had never been to Louisana. It was aroun d Easter and the weather was fairly warm considering Missouri at the time was still kinda chilly. Went done to Bourbon Street. Loved the jazz music, the artists, the whole artitechual (sp) of the buildings with balconies, the spicy food although later that first evening I suffered with heartburn, went to the riverfront and inside the big Cathedral, when I was at the riverfront, i stood very close to a Russian ship. I remember looking up as far as I could to see the top of the ship which you know was impossible to do standing so close. I, also, remeber that someone drugged me into a voodoo shop and I ran out of it as soon as I seen what it was. All in all, I loved it and would really like to go back again.
